Sharing Our Journey With Student Volunteer Army (SVA) 01 May 2020 Sharing Our Journey With Student Volunteer Army (SVA) We are so proud to share our journey with Sam Johnson, Young New Zealander of the Year, and partner with his team at the Student Volunteer Army (SVA) as part of our COVID-19 response. Through SVA’s contactless grocery pick-up and drop-off service nationwide, our senior Clients, those who are immunocompromised, and the families or our health workers can continue to receive the essential grocery items they need. If you, a loved one, or someone in your community needs a bit of a hand, give SVA a call on 0800 005 902 or go to www.sva.org.nz About Student Volunteer Army The Student Volunteer Army was founded during the Canterbury earthquakes; people from all walks of life (not just students!) came together to shovel silt, help those most affected and sometimes, just have a cup of tea during those uncertain times. Almost a decade later, they continue to work with young people and their partners, to provide community-based solutions and connection. Now, during these unprecedented times, they are combining their experience in both the disaster and health space, to provide a nation-wide volunteering response. They have used their platform to build a ‘matching system’, which enables them to support those that need help and their volunteers – and deliver this all whilst practicing social distancing.
