About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga

As the Rehabilitation Coach, you will assist in providing support for people living with an acquired brain injury or other disabilities as they carry out everyday tasks which support the smooth and effective operation of Geneva Healthcare. This is a physical hands-on role that requires excellent communication and planning skills. The ability to work independently or in group settings is a must.

This will be a full-time role based on the North Shore.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients who are living with a traumatic brain injury or other disabilities to work alongside them either one on one and or in a group settings
  • Engaging with the people we support to establish trusting and collaborative relationships with them and their families/whānau, directed toward the achievement of individualised goals and aspirations
  • Working with clients as they carry out their activities including centre-based, home based, community based and workplace settings
  • Understanding and recognising ongoing and changing needs of the people we support
  • Maintaining accurate administration and provide timely reports

What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga

  • Experience working with people with complex support needs including traumatic brain injury and seizures
  • Excellent computer skills & an understanding of IT systems
  • Understand the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Experience in networking at all levels across the social sector
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan or contribute innovated ideas for our programme
  • Hold a National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing NZQA level 4 or above/ or a willingness to work towards this within the first 6 months
  • Current First Aid and Epilepsy training (or willing to work towards it)
  • Current full clean driver’s license

You should also have a love of driving.
